I can think of a ton of times when Rodgers would throw up a Hail Mary to one of his big guys, or Brady throw one up for Moss, or any number of other situations, and the QB got credit for putting the ball up in the air for his guy to make a play on it. All of those throws looked like 50/50 balls when they left the QB's hand but they got the result. It's the reason you throw it in the direction of your guy who is 4" taller and 40 pounds heavier than the opponent. Let's give Purdy a little credit for taking the chance to win the game.

I am a card carrying Purdy homer....but the MO on Purdy has always been that he is going to attack. He is not a safe QB, he will risk the ball.

We all wish he was throwing to Jerry Rice and John Taylor in the end zone, but we will have to settle for Tonges playing like a big dude and taking the ball from a small dude.

So astute.

These are the type of things that makes me think he has a good game l. He only had a couple bad throws, which isn't an excuse, but he kept putting us in scoring position.

also that's a top nfl defense - at the end of the season people will look back and realize that, IMO

Yea there's aspects we don't even know about yet. Many people, myself included (but not really), expected us to handle them easily because of our past success. Those dominant teams the past 5 years still rub off on me and I have to admit to myself that this current version is not there.

I'm not completely dismal tho. I think we can get there midway through the season. Plus Brock lost Kittle and JJ basically at the same time which didn't help some of those bad reads and picks.

But yea by week 10-ish I think we'll be proud of this win and the Seahawks will be in the hunt for a wildcard and maybe even the division

Now we all know why his legs look as big as CMCs (if not bigger), he worked out big time in offseason... dude really carried the team on his back with his legs too. If not for the INTs (and Moody's misses), they probably slaughter the cucks by 3 scores. That's pretty scary considering this team is still trying to build chemistry and figure things out with missing bodies / new faces. The league gonna be real scared if Niners get to playoffs healthy and settled down #HighAlert
Since the Seahawks joined the division in 2002:

2002-2021: 5-15 @ Seattle (also 0-1 in playoffs). The starting QBs in those wins were Garcia (2002), Smith (2006, 2011), O'Sullivan (2008), and Garoppolo (2019).

2022-2025 w/ Purdy: 4-0 @ Seattle

They ignore offensive line every year. So it's to be expected. It's not important to Kyle. I wish they would invest in it more. But they never do.
The 2nd INT he threw was pretty aggregious but overall Brock had a solid game. He put his nuts on the table for that last drive and TD.

I appreciate that Purdy doesn't have a long memory. Some guys would have not taken the shot to Pearsall on the last drive after that 2nd INT.
I like Purdy a lot and have supported him as much as anybody. But the one downside is he sometimes can be too much gunslinger for his own good. He has a little Favre in him without the arm strength of Favre. He can really chuck up the prayer sometimes. As we saw a few times today. Throwing into quadruple coverage was horrible. The throw to Tonges was a miracle and he got bailed out by Tonges. Probably should have been an interception.

I like his game overall and how he looks downfield and looks to make the big play. But he could actually use a tiny bit more of Jimmy G in him. He needs to know his limits sometimes and not do some of the reckless stuff. He plays like has a Josh Allen arm and he doesn't. LOL. That's where he gets into trouble.

He can be fabulous with timing, anticipation, accuracy, running around pretty good (but he's not Lamar either). He's more good than bad but has some wild points I wish he would clean up.

Agreed. Honestly I think Purdy is a gunslinger at heart, I know that is sometimes used as a pejorative for QB's but I appreciate that aspect in his game. Brock is going to sling that s**t for better or worse and most of the time it's better.

Ha, I made my last comment before reading this but I agree for the most part. He is a gunslinger and needs to work on reining it in but I'll take that over being too timid to make a big time throw.

With him being so young, I will take the Gunslinger over a timid game manager as well. I think him slinging it will due him well in the long term. The hope is he should slowly learn what he can get away with while developing the skills to make those elite tight window throws. He might not be Josh Allen but Josh had to learn how to dial it back as well. Purdy has got to get better at taking care of the football but I believe he will.

People forget how young Purdy is. He is one year older then Jayden Daniels. The same age as Michal Penix JR, and Bo Nix. A year younger then Jordan Love. Purdy has already went down to the wire with Mahomes in the Superbowl. Had an MVP caliber season. He is playing behind a terrible oline and a bunch of guys who can't stay on the field. He has some weaknesses but he also has some elite skill sets. Like anticipation, footwork, pocket awareness, accuracy. I like Purdy's potential a lot. Also I think his performance in today's game is being underrated.
I want Brock to succeed as much as anyone but you cannot deny the weakness of this man's arm. Every pass over 25 yards, floats in the air way too long. Even the pass towards the corner of the end zone that got batted down, a strong throw there on a rope results in a TD.

Every pass that isn't under 10 yards, feels like it's in the air forever.

Don't forget he's playing without Ayuk, JJ, Demarcus Robinson, and of course Kittle. Not many QBs gonna tear it up down 4 of their best receivers. Hopefully his game picks up when he gets some talent back.

It will be interesting to learn tomorrow how long this team will be without Kittle and Jennings.
